Ticket sale for the World Championships in Cyclo-Cross 2019 has started out well and especially Belgian cross fans have been eager to ensure access to the championships in Bogense, Denmark.
Three weeks after the release of tickets for the 2019 UCI Cyclo-Cross World Championships organizers of the big event are hugely satisfied with the result so far.
“In this first phase we have exceeded 1000 tickets sold and we are pleased to note that we have shipped tickets to ten different countries. A good sign – not only for ticket sales in general but also for the atmosphere on February 2nd and 3rd when Bogense will host this massive event,” says Per Olesen, CEO of the North Funen Business and Tourism Association.
With Belgians Sanne Cant and Wout van Aert both winning gold at the World Championships in Valkenburg at the beginning of February it is not surprising that the Danish organizers until now have sold a fair share of the tickets to fans in Belgium.
“A little more than 50 per cent of the tickets sold have been bought by Belgians but I have to admit that I didn’t expect our Belgian sale to be bigger that the amount of tickets sold to the Danish public,” says Per Olesen.
“And it is nice to see the vast interest from Germany and Great Britain – as well as The Netherlands of course. It looks really promising.”
The World Championships is organized in collaboration between North Funen Business and Tourism Association, Sport Event Denmark, Sport Event Fyn, Denmark’s Cycling Union and, of course, the International Cycling Union, UCI.
