The bridge crossing Bogense Harbor which will pay a major part at Sunday’s World Cup race in Cyclo-Cross, was opened on Thursday at an informal event with about 70 locals gathered on Vestre Havnevej.

Mayor of Nordfyn Municipality – Morten Andersen – made the actual initiation of the bridge with a speech and formal opening.

The all time best bicycle rider from Bogense, Kasper Linde, showed that the bridge’s one and a half meter high pitch could be defeated easily and elegantly – and finally a toast was proposed for the new bridge.

“It’s a really nice event we are celebrating  today,” Mayor Morten Andersen said.

“The bridge stands as a great symbol of an event that has great importance for the whole area. That so many people around the world on Sunday will focus their attention at Bogense and Northern Funen a unique opportunity.”

And Kasper Linde added.

“To me, as a cyclist and a Bogense boy, it’s very special to be the first to cross the new bridge. I’m looking forward to Sunday – and can only recommend everyone to come to Bogense to watch world Cyclo-Cross. It will be fantastic.”
