For the last 23 years, the Belgian couple Linda and Rudy have traveled thousands of kilometers on the roads of Europe in their white Ford Transit with the primary purpose of attending as many international cyclo-cross races as possible.

“This is the first time we are in Denmark, and it was by no means difficult to get here,” says the retired lorrydriver, Rudi, who with his wife in the passenger’s seat arrived in Nordfyn on Wednesday night after having travelled slow since they left home near Oostende.

“This morning we have researched a little and we are excited to see the race on Sunday. It’s a really exciting and challenging route for the riders here,” says Lucy, who of course hopes for Belgian victory for both men and women.

“But of course, it will be difficult if Mathieu van der Poel is ready,” says Rudy, whose personal guess is that Wout van Aert wins with the men’s race, while Sanne Cant is the favorite in the women’s.

“We are looking forward to getting acquainted with Bogense before we are moving on Monday headed for the next World Cup race in Zeven, Germany on Saturday, November 25th.
