VisitNordfyn is a part of the North Funen Business and Tourism Association (NEET) which is the local organization working to promote business, tourism and events in the Municipality of North Funen. It is a strong and flexible organization aiming at boosting regional business and tourism. NEET attracts and develops events and has a solid experience of carrying through successful events. In cooperation with Sport Event Fyn, VisitNordfyn will be responsible for everything regarding planning and operation in connection with the cyclo-cross events.
Sport Event Fyn
Co-operating with municipalities of Funen, Sport Event Fyn is focusing on attracting, planning, carrying through and further developing large-scale national and international sports events in Funen. The goal is to provide business, earnings and jobs primarily within tourism and food production. Secondly, Sport Event Funen aims at marketing Funen as a leading and ideal sports destination of high class nationally and internationally embracing various sports. Thirdly, it wants to enhance pride and self-esteem among the natives of Funen.
Sport Event Denmark
Sport Event Denmark is engaged in attracting and holding large-scale international sports events like for instance Telenet UCI Cyclo-Cross World Cup and UCI Cyclo-Cross World Championships. It is also aiming at involving the Danes, filling them with enthusiasm, creating pride, developing sports, promoting growth and tourism – and marketing Denmark internationally.
Danish Cycling Federation
Danish Cycling Federation (DCU) has more than 30.000 members who are organized in more than 300 bicycle clubs all over the country. The aim of DCU is to activate the largest possible number of persons at all levels and to give each individual member a chance to develop his or her potential within the framework of bicycle sports. Historically Denmark has been a very strong cycling nation. It has won many medals at the Olympic Games, the UCI track racing championships, road racing, MTB and not in least cyclo-cross. The Danish Cycling Federation prides itself on organizing big international cycling events. The 2019 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championship will be the next in the row.
UCI is the International Cycling Federation. It was founded I Paris in 1900, and its head quarter is now placed at UCI’s World Cycling Centre in Aigle, Switzerland. The UCI has 186 member nations spread over five continents. In collaboration with the partners mentioned above the UCI will in 2019 arrange the 67th Cyclo-cross World Championship in Bogense, i.e. the second one on Danish soil.
